Residential Pipe Relining in Perth
A commercial site can be closed off and worked around. Your home can't. Residential relining is built around the fact that people are still living there while it happens, so the driveway, the garden and the floors inside stay exactly as they were before we arrived.
- Typically a single-day job for a standard reline
- Driveway and garden stay undisturbed
Usually done in a day
A standard residential reline is typically completed in a single day, though every job is confirmed on site first.
Fremantle heritage housing
Older Fremantle homes with narrow, hard-to-access pipe are a regular part of our residential work.
Standard vs needs a site visit
Most residential jobs follow a standard pattern. Anything unusual gets a site visit before we commit to a timeframe.
What makes residential relining different
The pipe itself doesn't know whether it's under a house or a warehouse, but the job around it is a different job entirely. There's a family using the kitchen and bathroom while we work, a car in the driveway that needs to move, and a garden someone has spent years growing. Residential relining is planned around all of that: access points are chosen to avoid digging up anything you'd notice, and the work itself is sequenced so the property is liveable the whole way through.
What stays untouched
Turnaround
For a standard residential reline, a single day is typical: inspection and cleaning in the morning, liner installation and curing through the rest of it. That's not a promise for every job, some pipe runs longer, sit at an awkward diameter, or turn out more damaged once we're actually in there, and any of those can extend the timeframe. What it does mean is that most homes we work on are back to normal well within the week, not weeks.
Older and heritage homes
A lot of Perth's residential housing stock, Fremantle's in particular, was built with narrower pipe and access points than a modern home, and the plumbing has often been added to or worked around over the decades since. That combination makes access harder, not the relining itself: once we're in the pipe, the process is the same regardless of the property's age. We plan the access side of these jobs specifically around protecting whatever period features or established landscaping sit above the line. For one worked example, see the Fremantle heritage home case study.
Units and apartments
A unit or apartment on a strata title has its own version of this problem: the pipe under your kitchen or bathroom often ties into shared plumbing before it leaves the building, so a blockage or defect in that shared section can turn up as a problem in more than one home at once, not just yours. If a CCTV inspection traces the fault back to common property rather than your own lot, that's a strata matter rather than a straightforward residential job. See strata pipe relining if that turns out to be the case.
Not sure whether your job counts as standard? A CCTV inspection settles that before anything is scheduled. See CCTV drain inspection or the full relining process for more detail, or check our FAQs for the questions homeowners ask most.
